

Whitney Taylor
Whitney Taylor is currently completing her B.A. in Health and Human Sciences, with an emphasis in psychology, at the University of Southern California. She is actively teaching in the Orange County and Los Angeles area, working as a percussion instructor at La Quinta High School (Westminster), Richard Gahr High School, and El Sereno Middle School.
Whitney started her piano career at the age of 4 and continued with private lessons until graduating high school, extensively under the instruction of Mrs. Roberta Osterode at the Fountain Valley Music Center. Over those 13 years, she has completed the Certificate of Merit Program and has qualified for Branch Honors and the MTAC State Convention over numerous years. She has also medaled in the MTAC-OCW Bach Festival Piano Solo Competition and received 2nd place at the MTAC-OCW Piano Solo Competition (2014). Furthermore, Whitney is highly experienced with music theory, as she has passed all Certificate of Merit theory tests and has scored Advanced on the AP Music Theory test (2015).
In addition to her experience with classical piano, Whitney has competed with Independent World Class Ensemble Pulse Percussion (2016 WGI World Champion, 2017 Bronze Medalist) as well as with the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps during the summer of 2016 (DCI Finalist), expanding her performance skills and playing knowledge of the marimba and the vibraphone of 6 years.
