Pat Chapman
Pat Chapman was one of six international percussionists selected to be a part of the YouTube Symphony Orchestra, which consisted of 90 professional musicians from around the world. Under the baton of Michael Tilson Thomas, the YTSO performed its debut concert at Carnegie Hall in April 2009. Since his time with the YTSO, Pat has performed in orchestras in California, South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. He has given masterclasses and clinics at California State University, Augusta State University and Southern Illinois University.
Along with his experience in Orchestra Percussion, Pat also has an extensive background in marching percussion. In 2009, Pat was a member of the percussion section for The Cavalier Drum & Bugle Corps and has served on the Percussion Staff of the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps from 2013-2015.
Chapman received a Bachelor of Music degree in Percussion Performance from the University of South Carolina, studying with Dr. Scott Herring. While at USC, Pat performed with the USC Percussion Ensemble, the USC Wind Ensemble, USC Marching Band, USC Opera and the USC Symphony Orchestra
Pat is currently pursuing a Masters of Music degree in Percussion Percussion performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State Long Beach under Ted Atkatz.
