Ameer Zhowandai
Ameer Zhowandai is a Los Angeles-based guitarist, music educator, and composer. He will be receiving his bachelor’s degree from UCLA in Global Jazz Studies, and associate degree from LACC in Guitar Performance under a full scholarship. He has had the chance to study and perform under renowned musicians such as Tina Raymond, Tamir Hendelman, Terrence Blanchard (Grammy Award Winner/Oscar Nominee), Arturo O’Farrill (Grammy Award Winner), and Cecil Alexander. While not teaching students, he is currently recording and performing with jazz musicians and composing scores for feature films along with his own music.
Ameer has been teaching guitar in the LA/Orange County area for over 5 years and is a dedicated and passionate teacher to numerous students from ages 5+. His main focus is Jazz, Blues, and Rock and Roll, but he also has experience teaching other styles of guitar such as R&B, Classical, Folk Rock, Brazilian music (Bossa Nova), Persian music, and Metal. In addition to guitar, he also provides instruction for beginning piano, bass, and drums, music theory, and music production.
