Aria Roach
Aria Roach is a junior at University of California, Irvine majoring in Drama, pursuing her Honors in Lighting Design and a minor in Business Management. She is from the Bay Area, where she began private classes in violin and piano in 2008. In 2015, she began lessons for viola and started learning voice through the Pleasanton Youth Theater Company. A couple years later, she began private vocal lessons as well.
Aria began her time in youth orchestras with the East Bay Youth Orchestra, initially earning concertmaster at 11 years old. At Granada High School, Aria became the concertmaster of the GHS Orchestra and Symphonic Orchestra her freshman year, continuing until graduation. She graduated as an International Baccalaureate Diploma student in 2021, where she earned the Music Department Orchestra Award. In addition, she played both violin and viola in the Sycamore Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Goran Berg, touring Sweden with them in 2018. Aria also played both instruments in the Livermore-Amador Symphony Youth Orchestra for many summers. Most recently, she has played viola for the UCI Symphonic Orchestra this past year.
Aria’s piano and vocal endeavors include years of recitals and local performances through Galina’s music studio, through which she joined the Studio Band and performed for local events and gatherings. In addition, she has taught and performed for youth musical theater companies in the East Bay. Although currently focusing her studies on theater, Aria has and always will have a love and deep appreciation for her musical roots. Having had numerous music teachers throughout the years, she hopes to bring the joy of music to those of all ages in a fun and effective manner.
