Peter Pluta
A guitarist and New Jersey transplant, Peter Pluta has been teaching professionally for over five years, with a diverse and eclectic background that has formed a well rounded musician. Graduating Magna Cum Laude from Rutgers University, and previously studying throughout his youth with several accomplished instructors, he has built the foundation for a complete guitarist. A veteran of several groups, from an Acoustic Duo, to Asbury Park Indy Rock, to blues jams, to open mics, and yes, even to a Metallica cover band, he has performed with many talented musicians in several historic New Jersey venues. However, Flamenco style and Andres Segovia classical renditions are also part of his reservoir of knowledge and experience.
Each lesson is personalized to the goals of the student, with engaging lessons where the student has a say in the songs and skills that they need to enjoy playing. For beginner students, the focus is primarily on enabling the student to play the songs they like to listen to, and then branch out into Music Theory after they have an established skillset that enables them to play and enjoy music. For intermediate and above students, I aim to help them develop the skills they want to improve upon the most.
