Christian Thomas is an active freelance musician in the Los Angeles area. He is a member of the American Youth Symphony and has performed at venues such as Walt Disney Concert Hall, Royce Hall, The Broad Stage, and the Carpenter Performing Arts Center. He has played in a diverse range of groups such as the Young Musicians Foundation Debut Orchestra, the Los Angeles Doctor’s Symphony Orchestra, the Southern California Brass Consortium, the Santa Monica Symphony, and the Los Angeles Symphonic Winds.
Christian is an avid and passionate educator. In addition to serving as horn professor at Long Beach City College, he maintains a teaching studio of young horn players and frequently coaches high school and middle school musicians throughout the school year. He has enjoyed several solo performances as winner of multiple concerto competitions and is a recipient of several music scholarships and awards.
Christian is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music. He is a graduate of the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach where he completed his Bachelor of Music magna cum laude. His major teachers include Jenny Kim, Greg Roosa, Dylan Hart, and Dr. Justin Hageman.
